the ruts and need plastic garbage bags for trash.

Harbour area?

BNA fundraising concert update - March 10, 2008
Concert plans continue to solidify. Kathy Schmidt has volunteered to head up the door to door ticket sales effort. What we need at this time is someone with graphic arts skills to help us design
the tickets and flyers. Please call Cherry Ann with any volunteers for this!
For those of you who like to bake, we will also have a "bake sale" area set up
for sweets. More on this later, but we want only single serving items, nothing we have to
cut or serve/handle! Think cookies, brownies and cupcakes.
Carol Emory continues to organize the silent auction. Kim Swenson and Peg O'Hara are working on food and beverages. Becky Whitney and Elizabeth Sanders are soliciting donations of items and money
from area businesses. Ann Neuenschwander is the decorating queen. Barbara Abernathy heads up the Tree Goddesses and Jim Miller has lined up a
great group of entertainers. Please call me or them if you have any ideas, contributions, concerns or
questions.

BNA to sponsor Spring Concert to pare down debt
The Bridgeton Neighborhood Association needs to raise approximately $15,000 to
cover the remaining outstanding Tree fight expenses. To that end, the BNA Board has decided to host a fund raising concert 3-7 PM,
April 27, 2008 at the Columbia Crossings Community Room on Jantzen Beach. We
need many volunteers to help with this effort. Any help you can provide will be gratefully accepted. And of course cash
donations will also be accepted.
Jim Miller has is procuring volunteer talent and producing the show. So far we have three musical acts: Bill Rhoades and the Party Kings, Ellen Whyte
and The New Iberians. We will have a belly dancing troupe and possibly a comedy group. Items for the silent auction will be varied. Refreshments and food will be available.
We also need an experienced: publicity person(s), catering person(s) with
know-how (both food and alcohol) and someone with experience to organize a
silent auction.
We will also need lots of ticket sellers, people to set up and take down
furniture and equipment on the day of the show, people to decorate the room and
more. This can be a lot of fun and a big success if you volunteer your time and
energy.
If you cannot help with this event, maybe you have an idea for another fund
raiser. Or perhaps you could help with a neighborhood street-long garage sale, all
proceeds to be donated to Bridgeton Neighborhood Association. This is still in very early planning stage, possibly for Memorial Weekend or
sometime in July.
To make a donation directly to the fund, sending a check payable to: Bridgeton
Neighborhood Association. Mail the check to 417 N. Bridgeton Road, Portland, OR 97217. (Contributions
qualify for 510(c)3 tax deduction)
Please call Cherry Ann at 971-212-0369 with ideas and enthusiasm and/or come to
a meeting to organize volunteers on Tuesday, February 5th at 7 pm at 205 N
Bridgeton Road #2 (ramp just east, or upriver, of Channel's Edge.)
Together we can meet this obligation and have fun while we are at it!

Fall Clean Up Day - canceled
Sorry but because we have been going 100% trying to save our trees we have not
been able to schedule (or afford!) our usual Fall/Winter clean up. We will have one in April as usual. The April date is sponsored by SOLV and others so we aren't charged but the Fall
clean up is on our own dollar.
Remember that if you have paint or other hazardous materials DO NOT put them in
the garbage drop boxes. They must be taken to the Metro Hazardous wait site
across the St. John's Bridge in the Guild Lake area.
Check out the Metro web site for info:
