Bridgeton N. A. Meeting Minutes
Minutes - February 7, 2007 Bridgeton Neighborhood Association Meeting
The meeting of the Bridgeton Neighborhood Association was called to order at
7:02 PM on Wednesday February 7, 2007 at the Columbia School.
There were 45 residents and guests in attendance.
1. Officer Mike Leonard spoke about warm weather and crime increases. He warned us to keep garage doors closed, front and back doors locked,
especially at night - and to please call him if we see anything that seems out
of place in the neighborhood.
2. Judge Richard C. Baldwin, a Multnomah Country Circuit judge spoke to us about
judges, courts, and mediation. He then took several questions from the group in attendance.
3. Mary Tompkins, our new Crime Prevention coordinator was introduced. Mary is now the person to contact if you want to start a neighborhood watch or
street patrol. She can be reached at 503-823-4763 or mary.tompkins@ci.portland.or.us and here
is the neighborhood involvement webpage: www.portlandonline.com/oni
4. A group of four from the Columbia River Crossing project presented an
overview of the project and how they got to where they are – which is a staff recommendation that the existing Interstate bridges be to be
replaced. CRC Staff members present were: John Osborn, CRC co-director, CRC engineers Rob
Hillier & Frank Green and communications manager Danielle Cogan.
A lively question and answer session took place and we ran out of time before we
could really all look at some proposals and comment.
The task force asked anyone who wants to comment to please do so in writing or
by email before the meeting on Feb. 27th. And try also to attend that meeting if you can.
