Bridgeton N. A. Meeting Minutes
The board meeting of the Bridgeton Neighborhood Association was called to order
at 6:30 PM on Wednesday January 18, 2006 at Channel’s Edge.
The following board members and officers were in attendance: Matt Whitney
(Chair), Mary Hart, Stan Hart (Treasurer), Lynn Dorman (Secretary), Jon
Peterson, Chuck Wilson, Kim Swenson, Walter Valenta and Cherry Ann
Kolbenschlag.
1. Crime. The need for a volunteer to the crime committee and for a neighborhood watch was
highlighted.
2, I-5 project. Walter presented the 4 alternatives being considered. [See http://oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/REGION1/I-5DeltaPark for details]
The Board voted to support both alternatives 2 and 4 as long as our connectivity
issues are met now and in the future.
Individual Board members may offer their own separate views.
3. Columbia Crossing Project. Walter, who is a citizen participant on this
project, presented an up-to-date summary. The project is now designing criteria by which to evaluate submitted proposals.
In March all submitted ideas will be culled according to the selected criteria.
4. North Portland Chair Meeting is on February 6th.
5. The Board recommended that Mike Gibson (N. Moore Street) be nominated to the Board and nominated for the
position of Vice-Chair. At the February 15th general meeting the Board will
recommend the following slate of BNA officers. Matt Whitney, Chair; Mike Gibson, Vice-Chair; Lynn Dorman, Secretary; Stan Hart,
Treasurer.
6. We will use donated plastic bags to refill the doggy bag holders at the local dog area.
7. We will soon have new BNA boxes.
8. Spring clean up is set for Saturday April 22, 2006 and we will again have paper shredders available.
9. Watch for information on a neighborhood garage sale probably this summer.
